We did not do much for the last day on the island of Föhr. In the morning, I took some photos in my aunt Ruth Fuch's studio. She has done quite a lot of sculpture and some paintings as well. I really liked the light and angles up in her studio space, and how it interacted with her art.
Later in the day, we visited my uncle Heiner Fuch's grave - he was my mother's brother. Tragically, he died in a car accident way back in 1976 and unfortunately I never really got to know him well. He was very adventurous and a photographer too, so I am sad he is no longer around to share stories with...
My aunt also did the caligraphy and design of the panels (photo 21) describing the figurines of the saints (?) behind the altar of the small local church. Check out the church's ancient donation box (alms box - photo 22) with the massive steel padlocks. Maybe people weren't too trustworthy in ages past!
