Last week I picked up a Fujifilm X-E1 body and XF 35mm f/1.4 lens. Since only Saturday was supposed to be good on this Remembrance Day weekend, I decided to head up the Fraser Canyon for what will likely be my last fall-colours excursion of the year. Although many trees were already bare, I was surprised at how much colour there still was!
These photos were all shot with the X-E1 and 35mm lens. Photo #8 is the highly adjusted version of photo #9, which was exposed to (just) preserve the blue sky. This demonstrates that the X-E1 has quite a bit of useable dynamic range, a fair bit more in fact than I needed to take advantage of in that shot. These photos were all shot raw and solely processed in Adobe Lightroom v4.3 RC. On the way home from the canyon, I dropped by my dad's place and the last shot was taken wide open at f/1.4, lit with only an energy-saving fluorescent bulb in a ceiling fixture.
