These are my first tests of a production copy of Fujifilm's new Fujinon XF 35mm f/2R WR fixed focal length lens. Generally speaking, I am very impresssed with this new lens' performance, especially given its compact size and very reasonable price. For the details of my evaluation of this new lens, see my originating blog post which can be reached by clicking -back to post- above. I have posted slightly larger than usual, 3000 pixel wide high-res shots, so you can better get a feel for this lens' performance. Thanks again to Nicole for being a willing lens test subject!
The sequence of images (6, 7, 8) were shot at f/2, f/2.8 and f/4, so you can see how blur circles render at those f-stops. Note that several shots in this gallery were taken through glass, namely photos 12, 19, 20 and 22. All raw images were processed through PhotoNinja but since this lens is not 100% optically corrected for distortion, and since PhotoNinja does not use EXIF embedded distortion data for automatic correction, I used a value of 51 in PhotoNinja's barrel distortion correction slider, which seems to match Lightroom's auto-correction very closely.
